After working for a few months, I realised how being a student is still the best. At work, it's not so simple. You have to defend for yourself to least let anyone have a chance to 'stab you in your back'. This was what I realised and what I came to know after hearing my colleagues talk about such things to me. Like sending a simple email is not as simple as it is. What you typed in that email to another person can serve as evidence if you've provided wrong information to that person, that person can use that email to backlash you as an example scenario. This was what I've came to realise how scary the actual society is.

And working people aren't as simple as you think they are. Words said are twisted so they don't seem as crude or unpleasant but indeed, they meant more than just simple words or comments made. And, people don't simply chat with you or what just for the sake of wanting to get to know you, but they might talk to you for the sake to appear as being friendly or worse, to fish out some information. People aren't as simple as you think I guess.


I don't know. Maybe I've just started work so I don't know how to act or pretend. If I talk to you, it's because I want to know more about you, like as friends or what, not to fish out information or just talk for the sake of talking and not being genuinely interested kind. You know I believe there are some people out there who just talk to their colleagues just for the sake of saying something to fill the silence gap or what and not being genuinely interested to talk to that person. I don't know if society is just making people behave like this or what. Like for the sake of survival and acceptance, people have to behave this way to protect themselves.

Maybe I think too much, but I know working life is definitely not as simple as student life. Like when we are studying, we make friends with people because of our simple intentions of just wanting to be friends with them. We talk bcus we have things in common to say about and we want to share our thoughts and feelings to them and we can almost talk about anything we feel. But in the workplace, I guess, when you thought of something, you can't just express them out freely like when you are with your friends, you have to think carefully before saying anything. So I guess there's this restriction.

To put it simply, I still miss student life... because of its simplicity. Maybe I still can't quite accept the fact that I've outgrown the student life phase and now belong to the working life phase. Adults are too complex human beings. They think too much and want too much such that they behave in such complex way.

Just my thoughts. But of course, I wish I could think less and just live life simply. Worrying and excessive thinking about things might do you more harm than good.
